Joel has worked in the homebuilding industry since 1980 and held just about every job possible with respect to homebuilding and planning, developing, marketing and selling master plan communities and resort properties. He became an employee of Centex Corporation in 1984 and was an Executive Vice President from 1994-2007. One of his highlights in his career was that he launched Centex Destination Properties and has built resorts and second homes in California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Nevada, North Carolina and Texas. Since launching Sundog Places, Joel has been following his passion of planning, developing and building a business model for nano-resorts as well as launching a new line of Custom Homes for the Carolina Mountains. His vision is that "small is the new big" in resort and second home properties. Just as some of the best hotels in the world are boutique hotels, many of the best places to unwind in your own private getaway will be nano-resorts and custom homes, planned and developed by Sundog Places. Joel's hobbies include fly fishing, reading, investing, and enjoying great cheeseburgers.
